Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle technique that involves working with the soft tissues of the body and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid between the head, spinal column and sacrum. These structures and fluids protect, support and nourish the brain and spinal cord. CST is used to relieve any tension and/or compression in these structures of the nervous system that can result in feelings of discomfort or lead to more progressive health conditions.

CST has been used clinically to relieve symptoms of ADD/ADHD, anxiety, panic attacks, autism, brain and spinal cord trauma, central nervous system disorders, chronic pain, Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, speech and learning disabilities, headaches, migraines, motor-coordination impairment, PTSD, scoliosis, and TMJ disorders.

Healing Touch therapy

Healing Touch Therapy (HT), similar to Reiki, is a contemporary, non-invasive energy healing therapy that utilizes very light or near-body touch to reduce congestion and blockages in the body and the energy field around the body to promote healing. Whereas Reiki focuses on the overall rebalancing of Qi (the vital life force energy), Healing Touch Therapy is more focused on the 12 meridians and 7 chakra centers in the body, and has more techniques available for specific conditions, such as back pain. HT was originally developed by and used for those in the medical field to calm and prepare patients for stressful or painful procedures, but is now being used in a variety of settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, private practices, hospices and spas.

Healing Touch Therapy is not a cure for any illness or disease, but is a tool that can be used to facilitate the natural healing ability of the human body on the physical, mental and emotional levels.

Research has shown that HT can reduce stress, improve anxiety and depression, decrease pain, strengthen immune function, enhance post-surgery recovery and facilitate wound healing, deepen spiritual connections, complement cancer therapies, and bring about a sense of peace in the dying process.

Reiki

Reiki is a subtle, non-invasive form of energy healing which originated in Japan in the late 1800s. In Japanese, the word translates to “Universal Life Energy.” The fundamental belief behind it is that when a person’s energy is strong and free-flowing, their body and mind are in a positive state of health. When this energy becomes weak or blocked, symptoms of physical or emotional imbalances are expressed. These imbalances or blockages are often the result of emotional traumas such as grief, the loss of a loved one or pet, going through a breakup, having a stressful job, losing a job, or experiencing other heavy emotions like fear and jealousy. Science has now recognized that emotional stress in the body can cause physical ailments.

Reiki is not a cure for a disease or illness, but simply a tool used to assist the body in creating an environment which facilitates natural healing on all levels – physically, mentally and emotionally. It is a highly beneficial therapy for inducing deep relaxation and stress reduction, and allows the body to relax in such a way that it starts to release the areas of trauma which may be causing emotional or physical pain. According to David E. McManus (PhD) in the Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine, numerous clinical trials have proven Reiki to be effective at activating the parasympathetic nervous system, as measured by reduced heart rate, reduced blood pressure and increased heart rate variability. For patients with chronic health conditions, Reiki has been found to be effective in reducing pain, anxiety, depression, and for improving self-esteem and quality of life.
